About a year ago, I started waking up with a sick feeling in my gut.
Thankfully it was not a medical condition, although that might have been easier to cure.
This ‘gut check’ was about my purpose and presence, a gnawing realization that my business and my brand was not reflecting my values and I was going to face some difficult decisions to re-align my values, purpose, and business.
A few months later, I shot awake from a deep sleep, my mind buzzing at 3AM. There was a feeling of exhilaration that I hadn’t felt in a long time. How do I describe it? A deep agape love, breaking free, strength of purpose, soaring heights. What did this pseudo-dream mean?
Helping people create positive lasting change is an incredibly strong motivation for me and so I found the courage to trust that gut instinct to drive me as I re-positioned my business. The idea of pushing past obstacles, of finding clarity to be true to yourself, of creating space and structure to capture those goals that seem out of reach is what drives my re-energized business and became the inspiration for the cathedral arch symbol in the VAULT Associates logo.
When I told my sister I was shifting my business to include coaching to help people move towards new levels of personal performance and create a culture of empowerment in their organizations, her response was a bit surprising,
“It’s always been obvious to me that is what you were meant to do. We were all wondering how long it was going to take you to figure that out.”
I’m thinking…”So why didn’t you say something before and spare me all this time and effort???”
Then I recalled one of our favorite childhood movies, The Wizard of Oz. Like Dorothy, I’ve always had the power and just had to figure out how to get ‘home’ for myself.
Welcome to VAULT Associates. As radio host, Paul Harvey would say, “And now you know the rest of the story.”
What’s going on in your gut right now?
